Venue
The workshop will take place in the Eugene-Paul-Wigner (EW) Building of the Technical University of Berlin, Hardenbergstrasse 36, 10623 Berlin (see Google Maps for details, (c) by Google). It is located in the center of the city close to the Zoological Garden. The building, constructed between 1978 and 1984, hosts the Physics department of TU Berlin and has been named in 2005 after Eugene Paul Wigner, who received his PhD at the TU Berlin.
The workshop site can be reached easily via public transportation:
- U-Bahn: Ernst-Reuter-Platz (U2), Zoologischer Garten (U2, U9)
- S-Bahn: Zoologischer Garten (S3, S5, S7, S75, S9)
- Bus: Ernst-Reuter-Platz (145, 245, X9)
- Train: Berlin-Hauptbahnhof + S-Bahn (S3, S5, S7, S75, S9); Bus 145, 245, X9 (20 Min.)
- Plane: Berlin-Tegel (TXL) + Bus X9 to Ernst-Reuter-Platz (20 Min.)
- Parking: Free parking is available at Strasse des 17. Juni in front of the main building of TU Berlin
The campus of TU Berlin is in walking distance to a large recreational area (Tiergarten) in the middle of Berlin and close to the Siegessäule, Brandenburger Tor and Potsdamer Platz. Due to its central location, the vicinity of TU Berlin offers many hotels, restaurants with dishes from all over the world, cinemas, museums, bars, and pubs with music and dancing.
